Screen froze after 1 day of use (2 hours max)

We bought the DVD for a road trip and were surprised to discover 3 things, 1) cords hangs messily, why would both cords be out of the left and right so we got dangling cords out of the left and right of each monitor 2) not battery powered, so you can't just take the main unit for a plane ride and 3) it froze after 2 hours of use. Purchased it on 1/24 and got a white screen with lines by that evening. I attempted to power-on on 1/25 morning, and received that same white line on the screen and DVD won't play. Needless to say, I am returning it to Target today.

I am experiencing a similar problem as others who have bought this product. The dvd player freezes after about 10-15 minutes of usage. Unfortunately, I bought this product over 90 days ago when it was on sale thinking that it would come in handy during long road trips. However, due to the timing of the purchase (right before school started) I did not have a chance to use the dvd player until recently. Now that I realize the dvd player does not work, there's nothing Target or Polaroid is willing to do to fix the problem since it was purchased over 90 days ago. Polaroid has offered to sell me another one at a discounted price, but who wants to throw good money after bad?

Bought this for an upcoming 7 1/2 hour drive. My husband hooked everything up in our van and tested it out with no problems. However, when I went out the next day with the kids, I turned the dvd players on and NOTHING. The only thing that was displayed on screen was the polaroid name. The 2nd display didn't even display anything. Every time I pushed play, the dvd would spin (I could hear it) and then nothing happened. The screen just would go blank and then display the polaroid brand. I had no idea how exhausting it would be to find a portable dvd player that is quality. Guess I should stick with buying no name brands. They seem to work the best. DO NOT, DO NOT buy this. It is WORTHLESS!!! I never write reviews, but thought that if anyone was considering plunking down their hard earned money for this, they should think again.

I didn't buy this at Target, however the product is truly a waist of money. I wish I had gotten even a little bit of use out of it, however I have yet to even finish one disc from start to finish. It stops and starts over again for no reason at all, whether you hit a bump or are on the highway driving smoothly. Don't waist your money on this one! I had to rate it as 1 star but it doesn't deserve any!

Problem 1, Does not come with any battery
Problem 2, where straps go around headrest the small metal clip broke that holds the strap to the unit. Cheap piece thats made to short can slid in and out
Problem 3. Never worked once brand new from the box......
Target was great, took it back no problem with receipt. We even told them that it was broken; after the refund of course..... Will never buy another polaroid again.....
Encourage all negative reviews to e-mail polajunk as well....

I just bought this and I really don't understand what the people were thinking when they created this DVD. I haven't had a chance to read other's reviews, but my DVD players both have the connections on the same side! You have to wrap the cord around the seat and then across to connect it to the other player. Also the main player which goes on the left side, behind the drive, has the car adapter on the left side. So you have to loop it around as well. Also, I had this player in a Dodge Ram extended cab and a Dodge Stratus, the cords are long enough to reach to the front plug, but the seat rests are to small to put the player on. I has to kind of criss cross both straps to try to get them to stay on the seat. These are def going back!!!

I bought this product from a diffrent store and came to target online to find a better version (no Luck) i have the same problem as the rest of these reviewers. I bought it the day we left for an 8 hour car ride with five kids in my van and it worked for all of about 30 min before one screen started reloading the movie, so they all had to watch one movie (ages 17 to 1 not easy to find 1 for all to watch) and then an hour later the second screen also would reload the movie or simply freeze up about every 15 min. I returned it and bought the ventura brand of this type of product and got the same results in the car, that brand also provided home adapters to use in your house and both screens worked perfectly then, however the main purpose is for the car. I guess the products like this in my price range are not made with good stabalizers. I will be returning the ventura one as well. :(

We baught this unit just before we head out to Florida during Christmas vacation. It was a long 8 hour journry and we wanted a good DVD player to keep our 8 and 10 year olds occupied. This unit worked perfectly and had no problems so far. Only downside is, it was little expensive, we paid [price] at Target. May be you can find it cheaper from [..], but I recomend this to anybody who is looking for a similar product.

Same as others, unfortunately, bought product thinking it was a good deal. Purchased extended warranty with it back on 8/5/08. Used it three times before getting 'Read Error'.
But, the 14 year old who rang my order, didn't give me the information for the warranty. So, my wife took it to Target - past the 90 days - told 'call mfg'. So I did. 'Target handles ext wty - call them'. I did. Handled by our 'Ext Wty Service'. Called them. Wty number not registering. Went to store (diff than purchased). 'Can't help you. Didn't buy it here. Go to Target bought at'. I suggested - 'Can't you call that store for me?' They did. Transferred me to ext wty number. Now 7-10 days to get a mailer to ship it back. 7-10 days to fix. If can't fix, Target gift card! I'd rather have a lump of coal - it's more valuable.

I bought this last summer, on sale, for a Christmas present for my kids. We decided to make an unexpected trip from Kansas to Georgia to take care of grandparents in their 80's, so opened the box early. The player didn't work at all. We had the receipt so took it back to Target. They kindly gave us another one, even though it was purchased so much earlier. That one played on movie and stopped in the middle of the 15 hour trip. We tried to exchange the second one and were told we'd have to go through POLAROID. After 30 minutes on he phone, during which I had to give name, address, email, etc, just to talk to someone, I was told that since it was past 90 days, they could only replace the unit if I paid a "charge". The charge was the difference between the sale price of the player [...] and what they allowed, was too much. So, if I want to, I can pay an additional amout for something that likely won't work! Nice way for POLAROID to make money, isn't it? Sell a WORTHLESS product and then charge for replacement. Needless to say, we won't buy any POLAEOID products in the future. I hope you won't either.
